the night of 24. Recalled

Cesar Quispe Ancashino triumphs at international poetry prize

Night April 24, as usual, turned on my computer and I logged on to Messenger considering developments that could be my contacts. Although, as usual, I tend to get some news that are not so rewarding, this time if I had one that made my day.

In recent nights, something not very common, my dear friend of letters and night talks, the poet and artist Cesar "Cholito" Quispe, as we say of affection, began to connect daily. Something very strange was happening, I thought.

That night of 24, his birthday, went for a change, the Messenger. As I settled into my battered and uncomfortable desk, the little light orange and Sonidito, which silently fucked, I was told that someone was communicating with me. I opened the window and saw that it was him. In desperation my window began to embed their messages. I read a few snippets where I called to tell if a website saying it was true or false. OjeƩ, obediently, the website where the results were given first prize in the Literary Contest Bonaventure V (version of Poetry), organized by the Universidad de San Buenaventura, Cali, Colombia , who, curiously, he was being the only winner of more than 2463 authors from 23 countries. That felt so great satisfaction for him and for our beloved port "Chimbote" at that time. Lethargy shortly after I told him it was true, he was the sole winner of that award and one million Colombian pesos.

After a little talk about poetry and the satisfaction of being father and writer at a time, made him react and realized we were wasting time talking about cojudeces, among other things.

His desire to go and share the victory with his family and especially with a sick child were so egregious that I could feel in the lines that I wrote. We parted with the conviction soon find our beloved Chimbote and hold up and no power. Meanwhile I stood still turned on the computer, waiting for our friends to let them enter the story, one that made me understand the reason for his assistance, not routine to this that is the Internet ...
