Jaime Jaramillo is an Engineer geophysicist and oil, which has devoted much of his life to rescue and rehabilitate children living on the streets and sewers of Colombia. In 1991 he, along with Mother Teresa of Calcutta, the World Award Peace and Justice, awarded by the Christian Brothers University in Memphis, United States, and in 1990 was chosen by the Junior Chamber International as one of ten young leaders from the world.
Jaime Jaramillo has been the creator and promoter of the Andes Children's Foundation, with headquarters in Bogota, Colombia, in which hundreds of children, who affectionately call him "Papa Jaime" have found a home and a new alternative life.
